The History of Hosanna Lutheran Church
Hosanna Lutheran Church was founded in 1988 by a group of Christians from St. Luke Lutheran Church. With foresight, these founders saw the expansion of the East Valley as an opportunity to proclaim the gospel. In their first years, Hosanna met at Bunker's Family Funeral Home on Apache Trail.
In 1990, land was purchased with the help and counsel of the Lutheran Church Extension Fund and the Pacific Southwest District of the LCMS. The congregation received its official charter on 31 January 1991. From its roots as a mission start, Hosanna has grown through the power of the Holy Spirit to over six hundred members. The ministry has expanded to include Little Palms Preschool in 2002. The facilities have grown to include two expansions of the existing church building, the addition of a Learning Center and a third out-building serving as a trustees/maintenance facility (2001).
Ours is a history of growing by God's grace, building on the cross as we are connected to Christ and connecting to one another.
